Ski resort content is mostly magazine writing and marketed figures. SkiBase is the opposite: a structured database of ski areas, resorts, pistes and lifts that can be filtered and compared rather than read.
Coverage currently runs to 244 published ski areas and 327 resorts across seven countries, with 25,167 mapped pistes, 4,414 mapped lifts and 12,565 km of mapped piste distance. That distance is derived from OpenStreetMap and is stored separately from officially advertised piste kilometres, because the two rarely agree.
The finder is built for matching rather than ranking: set the country, a minimum piste distance, a day-pass ceiling and recent summit snow, and it returns the areas that meet the constraints for a specific trip.
